Liposuction is one of the most commonly performed cosmetic surgery procedures. If performed properly, it is also one of the safest procedures.
“In my opinion, the ideal candidate for liposuction is someone who has made an effort to get their dietary and exercise habits under control,” explains Dr. Craig Hobar, notable Dallas plastic surgeon. Patients don’t have to be at their ideal weight, but they should be working towards it. Almost everyone, regardless of their level of fitness, has resistant pockets of fat that don’t respond to exercise. In a woman, this is usually hips, outer thighs, abdomen, inner thighs, and the area right above the inner knee. In men, it is usually the abdomen and ‘spare tire’ area.”
