It wasn’t too long ago that sushi was considered to be an exotic dish, consumed by the executive who was doing business with Japanese clients. However, as discretionary incomes increased and our appetites for exciting and foreign foods increased, sushi became a popular import to North American shores.
Unfortunately, deciphering the sushi list can be a daunting task for the amateur.
Granted, sushi is an acquired taste and the fact that it’s raw fish sometimes causes people to run for the door, but not understanding the menu is no reason to disregard it.
